Stretch & Tone at the Barre
Stretch and Tone at the Barre offers exercises that integrate elements of Pilates, dance, and strength training! The pace is dynamic and energetic. You will use light props at the barre to strengthen the core, legs, glutes, and arms. Plus we incorporate dynamic stretching to improve flexibility.
Pilates Fusion
Build strength and flexibility with a mixture of Pilates, barre, and resistance exercises. We will focus on strengthening the core and toning the whole body. You’ll use props to challenge stability and to increase muscle recruitment. All levels welcome.
Yoga-Pilates Fusion
We combine the stretch, focus and balance of a yoga practice with the stability that comes from Pilates exercises. This class has a yoga pace and feel while incorporating Pilates exercises to develop shoulder, core and pelvic stability. Standing poses and balances will add strength and recruit the deep muscles we develop in Pilates movements. All levels
Pilates all Levels
Learn and practice the movements of Pilates that develop your core and bring stability to your body to improve posture, strength & flexibility. Your Pilates practice will inform and improve all other movement in your life from simple daily activities (e.g. driving, sitting, walking) to sports and other fitness endeavors. Leave this class feeling taller and stronger. Modifications will be given for varying skill levels. Beginners welcome
Stretch and Tone
Stretch & Tone will move you through a series of exercises to improve overall functionality of the body. Using a combination of props such as the orange ball, flex-band and yoga strap, we will use Pilates, yoga and traditional exercises to strengthen the core while improving range of motion in the joints and large muscle groups. The goal is to improve mobility while strengthening. Whether you are a runner with no time to stretch, someone who has chronically tight muscles or you just want to improve your overall strength and flexibility, this class is for you. All levels
A Note About the Orange Ball
In many of our classes we use the orange mini stability ball. This ball is a great tool for releasing tension throughout the body and enhancing Pilates movements by adding resistance and increasing demands on the neuromuscular system. The result is a stronger, more resilient and fluid body
Hatha Yoga
This class is designed to make yoga accessible to all levels and all body types. We learn and practice breathing techniques and postures slowly and with attention to form and details. Students will gain a new understanding of the postures and their own potential as they develop strength and flexibility. The flow of the class from breath to postures to final relaxation, i.e. savasana will impart a sense of equanimity and improved mental concentration. Students will learn to use props such as blocks and straps to facilitate the postures.
Kripalu Yoga All Levels
Find balance and achieve a new level of physical, emotional and mental well-being. This practice will be led in the Kripalu tradition which is a gentle, meditative style of yoga where each student is guided to move at their own pace, honoring their body’s needs in each moment. It is a compassionate, non-judgmental self inquiry. You will be offered options to modify and challenge yourself or not, making this class appropriate for beginners and experienced practitioners.
Each class will include Yoga and Buddhist philosophy, poetry and soul stirring music as well as pranayama (breath work), asana (postures), and gentle vinyasa (flow of postures) capped off with a long, restful savasana (deep relaxation).
